Production of Free Fatty Acids
Free fatty acids can be applied in the chemical and in the food industries. Our research aim producing free fatty acids from vegetable oils. Several processes have been studied: conventional processing, ultrasound processing, high pressure processing. Results showed high efficiency of the ultrasonic process.

Production of Lactic Acid from Glycerin
Glycerin is a by-product of biodiesel production and there is a high offer of this reactant in the market.
Our research aim producing lactic acid and lactates from glycerin through the hydrothermal process. The results show that the productivity of the hydrothermal process was greater than the one obtained through the fermentative process (most applied technology).
